Grace places a strong emphasis on students getting many opportunities to praise their Lord through song. Psalm 95:1-2 “Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song..”
With this in mind, every student gets the opportunity to be in a classroom choir which sings in church three five times every year.
Students in grades 4-8 can join our great Band program and learn any band instrument they wish. Individual lessons are held on a weekly basis during the school day and band rehearsals are done every Wednesday. Three concerts are set for the school year and students also get the opportunity to play during church and chapel services. This program costs the parents $400 for the school year. Our band instructors are Mr. Koch, Mrs. Unkefer, and Ms. Young.
Junior Handbells is an opportunity for all students in grades 7-8. They learn advanced handbell songs in which they play for church, chapel, and special occasions. Practices are held before school every Wednesday. Mrs. Koch leads these students to praise their Lord in this unique way. There is no cost to be in this program.
Junior Handchimes is for the beginner and is a pre-cursor to our handbell program. Students in grades 5-6 are taught the basics of ringing and get the opportunity to play during our weekly chapel services. Practices are held every Tuesday morning before the school day begins. Junior Handchimes is led by Ms. Neumann. There is no cost to be in this program.
Junior Choir is another opportunity that students in grades 5-8 can participate in. Our choir is led by Mr. Greening and meets three times per week during the school day. Students will learn to sing in parts and will learn advanced choir songs. This is in addition to the classroom choirs that each students at Grace is in. Our Junior Choir gets many opportunities to praise their Lord at church, concerts, and special events.
